The TORQAMP Clean Ship Combustion project is a European Union supported project.
INTERREG
The EU program Interreg is designed to strengthen economic, social and territorial cohesion throughout the European Union, by fostering the balanced development of the continent through cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation. Interreg is built around three strands of cooperation: cross-border (Interreg A), transnational (Interreg B) and interregional (Interreg C). IMSE is proud to announce to be involved in this EU program along with SRM solutions. Together with SRM solutions (based in the Netherlands) IMSE (Head office in Belgium) is involved in the TORQAMP Clean Ship Combustion project.
PROJECT MISSION
In the project innovative technology is being developed to reduce emissions arriving from aftermaket marine engines. Oceanwide Expeditions participates in this project with their vessel: ” the Plancius ”. In the opinion of both IMSE and SRM Solutions the potential environmental improvement will be optimal if focused on aftermarket marine diesel engines. Not only the environment benefits from the improvements, so do the ship owners! Optimal engine settings in combination with innovative technical solutions will result in less maintenance and improved performance and engine efficiency. The innovations from SRM Solutions and IMSE have the potential to be of major influence for the environment, the local population and shipowners.
